I can take full strides
I can take full strides with no trouble. The deck is just as big as gym machines as far as I can tell. it has enough power and hasn't bogged down on me even when I walk as slow speed. High speeds do well also. It seems very sturdy.

Great machine for the money
I'm giving it 4.5 stars just becuase I have only had it 2 months so I can't rate it for durability yet. The quality definately seems to be there. The frame is very sturdy and I can run with no issues. I can really tell a difference when I adjust the cushioning to be softer. It's more comfortable to run on the treadmill than outside for me. I found the console very easy to use and it only took my husband about 45 minutes to assemble the machine. It looks very sleek and and expensive. I think it looks very much like a fancy gym treadmill. It's also pretty quiet. I think any treadmill makes some noise but I can watch TV without any trouble. I'm still waiting for ifit live to come. I wish it was ready when I bought the machine. I called yesterday and they said I should have it the first week of December.
on Nov 13, 2009
trouble free but heavy
It was hard to get into my house becuase it's so heavy but that also good because it's very well made. I've lost 12 lbs in 5 weeks and it starts right up for me every morning. It's been a life changer.

I won't have to run outside this winter!
I was determined to get a treadmill this winter so I wouldn't have to run outside in the cold. I was a little worried about buying a treadmill under $1000.00 but it works perfectly with no creaking or other noises. I'm very pleased with it.

Great Treadmill All Around!
We purchased this treadmill for my wife after comparing many other makes and models. It came down to either the A2550 Pro or the Sole F63. We decided that the A2550 Pro was by far a better buy. It had many more features than the F63 which is just Sole's base model treadmill. When we brought it home, it took only two hours to assemble and it worked flawlessly. My wife uses it 4-5 times per week and says it is the most comfortable treadmill she has ever used. This includes commercial brands she has previously used at the gym. We have not subscribed for ifit but intend to in the near future. The speakers for the ipod are great, the treadmill is solid and very quiet, and the deck is very comfortable. This is a great buy especially if you can get it on sale for $799!!!

Everything we could have asked for
Purchased a A2550 Pro for my wife. Very heavy to bring in to our workout room. You will need 2 to 3 people to avoid injuries. Assembly is straightforward but takes an hour or two. Quite machine, easy to operate and great programs even absent the Ifit programs. For $800 you cant go wrong.

I would recommend this machine to anyone. Its very well made and it gives me alot of room to advance expecially with the IFIT option. Be aware though this machine is very heavy and it took myself, my husband and the delivery driver to get it in the house and upstairs where it needed to go. Its about 250lbs so make sure you have help with it in the time of delivery. It took my husband and I about 3 hours to unpack and put what needed together. It has very clear instructions and the assembly went smooth.

I've been using this treadmill for about 3 weeks and it's great! Compared other models and prices for weeks, before choosing the A2550 pro. It's quiet, comfortable and a very good value for the money. Can't go wrong purchasing this treadmill!

IM SO IN LOVE.......
I BOUGHT THE A2550 PRO ON CHRISTAMS DAY! GOT A GREAT DEAL AND WAS SHOPPING AROUND FOR WEEKS, FOR A BETTER BUY AND FOUND A COUPON FOR $50 DOLLARS OFF ONLINE AND SAID SCREW IT IM GOING TO GET IT THOUGH NORDICTRACK, AND IM SO THANKFUL I DID! IT FINALLY GOT HERE ON JAN 7, 2010 AND I WAS SO EXCITED!! THIS THING IS HUGE WAS MY FIRST REACTION.. IT TOOK OVER 2 HOURS TO PUT TOGETHER,YOU NEED A MAN FOR THIS JOB LADIES!!! ONE THING WAS IT HAD THIS UPDATED NOTICE IN THER SAYING USE THESE SCREWS AND NOT THE ONES LISTED IN THE MANUAL. WELL MY BOYFRIEND COULDNT GET IN THEM AND TRIED FOR A GOOD 30MINS WE FINALLY GAVE UP AND USED THE THE ONES IT SAID NOT TO USE AND GOT IT SET UP. THE DECK IS BIG A TAD SMALLER THEN A GYM TREADMILL BUT NOT BY MUCH ONLY ABOUT 2INCHS. BUT HONESTLY, YOU WOULDNT WANT IT ANY BIGGER, ITS BIG ENOUGH! THE TREADMILL DOES MAKE A LITTLE NOISE BUT NOT TO MUCH. ITS JUST THE BELT MOVING AND I THINK ITS NORMAL! THE SETUP IS GREAT. IT HAS A ONCE TOUCH SYSTEM WHERE IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE THE SPEED OR INCLINE YOU CAN DO IT IN ONE TOUCH, ITS GREAT! SAY YOUR RUNNING AND YOU NEED TO SLOW DOWN RIGHT AWAY, INSTEAD OF PRESSING THE BUTTION TO SLOW DOWN YOUR SPEED AND HAVE TO PRESS IT A BUNCH OF TIMES, YOU CAN PRESS FOR EXAMPLE 2 OR 3 AND YOU SLOW DOWN TO 2 MILES A HOUR OR 3 MILES A HR, SAME ON THE INCLINE! I LOVE IT! WAY BETTER THEN THE GYM TREADMILLS! YOU CAN ALSO CHANGE THE DISPLAY TO MULPITE CHOICES, I LIKE THE ONE THAT SHOWS THE CALS,DIS,TIME,PULSE, ALL AT ONCE. IT DOES NOT HAVE A FAN, BUT THATS OK. WASNT GOING TO PAY 200 MORE BUCKS FOR A FAN WHEN I CAN BUY A BOX FAN FOR 20 DOLLARS... BUT IT DOES HAVE SPEAKERS ON IT WHICH I PERERR OVER THE FAN. YOU CAN HOOK UP YOUR MP3 PLAYER OR IPOD OR IPHONE TO IT, I HAD TO GO BUY A ADAPATER FOR THEM AT RADIOSHACK BUT IT WAS WELL WORTH IT. IT HAS TWO CUP HOLDERS THAT ARE BIG, YOU CAN PUT IT UP TO BE A SPACESAVER, BUT HONESTLY YOU EITHER NEED TO BE WONDER WOMEN OR A MAN TO DO THIS! ITS NICE OPTION THOUGH. IT CLICKS INTO PLACE ONCE YOU GET IT UP AND YOU JUST PULL IT OUT TO BRING IT DOWN

Just got this treadmill a few weeks ago. So it is exactly what has been described. It can't get any better than this. Even the speakers are great. I am giving it 4.5 because i cannot rate it for durability yet. I will chime in again in a few months. So far its perfect. Even my really tall hubby loves it!

Good treadmill with plenty of power.
This treadmill is being used for jogging at 150lbs and walking/jogging at 105lbs.
The motor is quiet and the deck is stable.
I have ran at 10 mph (max 12 mph) and the treadmill feels solid.
Assembly took at least 2 hrs and 2 people.
If have the time and energy, go ahead and assemble the treadmill yourself and save some bucks.
Add a fan nearby and you're set!
I contacted NordicTrack very early about the Grafixx display. It looked really bad at first. They were willing to replace the whole console but they had me adjust the contrast first (directions in the manual) and it looks great!
We are not planning to use ifit Live.
Overall, we are very pleased with this treadmill!
-solid HEAVY build
-controls are within reach
-motor and deck fold as one unit
(some fold up with the hinge at the front roller. I think the one piece feels more durable)
-The speakers are reasonably loud.
-motor and deck fold as one unit
(very heavy to fold up for my wife especially)
-I have adjusted the belt a few different times. It seems set now, but for awhile it was shifting left or right. The belt needs to be centered to avoid wear at the edges.
-running toward the front of the belt seems to create a lot of bounce and shake.

Good but did have some issues
We've had the 2550 pro for probably 3 months and it's being used by two people daily. It's seems to be pretty solid machine, but had a few problems when putting it together. The pulse bar cracked where it connected to the handle bars. Customer service was excellent they sent out a new part immediately. We also had a problem with the knob that holds the platform up, but since we don't move it at all that's not a big deal. The other thing I noticed was that the programs seemed to be designed for Olympic athletes! ;-) There's no way i could even begin to complete the standard 20 minute workout. Since I'm usually just walking I just adjust the incline and speed manually as a go. It would be nice to have a walking workout for us mere mortals. We must have an older model, because we don't have the cool graphics that shown in the current model.

A good fit for us
We have had our A2550 Pro now for about two months. So far it has been excellent. It is quieter than our 10 yr. old treadmill it is replacing, but a bit longer in length. Assembly went okay, but read the directions and make sure you are installing the correct bolts in the correct spots. This thing is heavy! If you are old and feeble like us, arrange for a couple of longshormen to get it to the final resting spot. We thought that we could unpack the box in the garage and carry the parts to the rec-room, but the main body of the treadmill is all in one piece and quite heavy. We looked all over the treadmill to find the "Made in China" label, but much to our suprise this thing is made in Utah. That in itself makes it well worth buying. It appears that the same company also builds other brands in their Utah plant.

Good Treadmill for Price
My wife has used this treadmill daily for 3 months and we have had no problems at all. The only 2 gripes I have is that when it was delivered they left it at my front door on a pallet because they weren't allowed to bring it inside for my wife. Secondly I just recently moved and it does not fit out doors. I used to live in a handicapped accessible apartment so the doorways were extra big but I still had to take it half way apart.

one sweet treadmill
A great treadmill. I weigh over 250 lbs and this machine has such a smooth and great cushion walking surface.
I paid for the delivery company to set up and it was worth every penny, because I think it would have been to hard for me to set up.
The motor is quiet and the entire machine is easy to use. The one touch features are great and so easy to use. The graphics are great and the sound is as well.
The A2550 machine is everything I expected and more.

Loved it at first
I was excited to buy this treadmill! Assembly was more time consuming than difficult and running on it was a delight. Additionally, I enjoyed iFit! However, after a week and a half of using the machine, it began to break down. the top cover popped off where it meets the belt (not a part that the consumer assembles), the belt began to stutter and slide to the side. I called customer on three occasions for assistance. Each representative was very knowledgeable and helpful. Unfortunately, none of the fixes worked. The last straw came when the belt stopped moving completely. I could hear the motor running but nothing was happening. Though i loved the machine (when it was operational), all of this within the first two weeks of use did not bode well at all. I've just called to return it and get a refund. I plan to purchase another Nordictrack treadmill soon and hope that I don't get another lemon. The fact that I'm willing to purchase another speaks to service i received form Nordictrack and how much I enjoy their products.

I was not expecting such a quality machine as such a reasonable price.
I have been able to rehab my right knee and maintain my weight loss goals while doing it.

Expected a good product but got a very good product. The hardware is superb; well constructed and solid; not wowed by i-fit in terms of cost and return. Overall a very good product.

I purchased the A2550 treadmill. I would rate the purchase experience excellent with NordicTrack. They answered all my questions, and helped me pick the best machine for my expected use. The product itself meets all expectations of a gym quality treadmill for my home. I assembled the treadmill myself without any issues or problems - the instructions were a breeze to follow. I am very pleased with my A2550 - I have recommended Nordictrack to several friends already!

Our Health is Increasing!
I am very pleased with the quality and good looks of the A2550. It was very well packaged and easy to assemble. We've put over 700 miles on this treadmill. I really like the one touch buttons for speed and incline.
We're a senior couple of 65 years, this treadmill has helped us improve our life, our stamina has increased. Our cholesterol, triglycerides, and blood sugar have all been reduced. Our weight has dropped and we look and feel much better. Thank you NordicTrack!

Got Me Ready for Spring Trail Running!
I prefer to run outside, and run on trails. When i got this treatmill, i had just finished graduate school and started a new job and felt chubby and overweight. It gave me the freedom to start my running program again so that i was ready for spring trail running. i consulted several friends who also have Nordic Track treadmills (one who got hers for a personal training business 10 years ago!), and there was no doubt that this would be a great product, and it is! Thank you so much!

Helped Me Train for a 10K
Purchased treadmill in February to start training for a 10K in July. Had not run further than a couple hundred yards in years J. Completed 5K race in June and 10K in July in under an hour. Couldn t have done it without the treadmill. I love the iFit Live module. It keeps the training exciting and helps beat the boredom when not running outdoors.

Great treadmill but speakers WAY too low
This is a great treadmill and the speakers are actually really good quality but the volume is WAY too low even when I turn my ipod volume and treadmill volume to the max. I ended up just wearing my headphones which kind of sucks since I was really looking forward to not needing to use headphones anymore.

Consumer Report and I Give Two Thumbs Up!!
What an awesome treadmill! The motor is a workhorse, the deck is very comfortable and the console features are unmatched with all the treadmills I reviewed. I spent weeks reading reviews on several websites, and testing different machines in the many sporting good stores around my home. Throughout all these tests i kept coming back to this treadmill. My brother hearing that I was in the market for a new treadmill shared the most recent treadmill reviews they have completed - how ironic that they chose the same machine I did! Consumer Reports give it a thumbs up as do I!

This treadmill was easy to assemble and works FANTASTIC. It is far nicer than any of the treadmills at our local gym and is actually fun to use. The built in shocks are terrific and durable. If you are considering buying a treadmill for weight loss or exercise maintenance--this one is it!
** It weighed about 245 lbs. so make sure you have someone there to help move it.

I liked this treadmill,it performs well and has several nice features. The speed and incline works nicely as does the iFit live program. I recently sold this model and upgraded to the 1750 Pro, because I run about 25 miles a week. That model is closer to the commercial models that I was used to at a gym I used. Before you buy any of these treadmills make sure you get the footprint width and length first. Then measure where you will put it, because it's heavy and hard to move once it's setup. These go on sale about three or four times a year and they are an excellent bargain when they do. You might want to save up some money and purchase the extended inhome warranty and the setup and delivery. Otherwise plan on having at least two strong people to bring it in your house. Good Luck

Let me enlighten you
This thing is so big they have to have a trucking company to deliver it. I am an ex-trucker and live in a place where a semi has no business. I was contacted by Old-Dominion trucking prior to delivery and asked how the delivery would be made, they said possibly by a 45ft trailer. Right away I told them that even a 45ft is a bad idea how about using a pup, they said they had none available for delivery routes of this kind. I have better than 15 years experience and explained I didn't want the driver to have problems because I live in an area that anything larger than a pup is a waste of time. Should I say I have been there done that. Freight companies are out to make money not lose it by bumping into things is not profitable. After our conversation they decided they would make the delivery in a p/u truck what a great idea. Old-Dominion you rock. The driver called me just a few minutes prior to delivery and we were ready to take the shipment. I live in Delaware OH. and we had a few inches of snow on the ground. From the p/u truck to our door was maybe 50 ft. the driver pushed out the treadmill and now it was standing straight up, I saw his pitful handcart and said we don't need that it will take forever. Mother nature provided us with a much easier way to get it to the door lay it down and slide it, that was the easy part. Ok, we now have taken the time to put it together, not only is this thing heavy but looks as good as anything you will see in a fitness center. It is huge, don't buy this use it for 6 weeks and put it into garage. I have had it 3 days and use it every chance I get. My hips are sore, my legs are sore and know this was a good health decision on my part. Haven't purchased the IFIT as of yet but that will be done buy the end of the week. I am looking forward to getting into some type of shape, this round look has got to go. :)

It's just the greatest...
I brought the A2550 about 2 mos. ago after looking around for almost a year. I set it up in about 2 hours(suggest you get another person to help). I was by myself. It's a little heavy to get into the house and move around. It was so easy to put together, the instruction and digrams are easy to follow.
At 62 yrs I'm a walker, not big on running. I have walk away 18 pounds so far. I walk about 2 to 3 miles a day at 3 to 7 percent incline. Speed of 3 to 3.7 miles per hour. Sounds like alot. Just start slow and you can speed up at 1/10 a mile per hour at a time. Of course I'm also watching what I eat, and saying away from those fast food places, and the late night snacks.
This treadmill is just what you need to walk or run away those unwanted pounds. Do not be fooled by those cheaper treadmills you see other places. This baby is built well and took my 225 lbs fat body with ease. The motor is a 2.5 Hp, it's quit, and you will not slip on the treadbelt.
The only draw back is the built-in handlebar sensors heart rate monitor. I found out after contacting NorficTrack that you have to stop walking to get an accurate heart rate. So, I got one of those that straps around my chest with a watch. I can now track my heart rate while still walking. I can also use it when I walk outside the summer with the dog.

I've Lost 25 lbs so far...
The Treadmill far exceeds my expectations in ability, and performance. I've lost 25 lbs and keep it off just like I wanted, and really have to watch it or I have to buy new Jeans every other month. Quality can't be talked into a product, it has to be engineered in, and Nordic Track excels in this science. I have to expand my workout room to add more Nordic Track Products

We purchased the in-home set-up option. Glad we did, the first machine could not be assembled even by the trained technicians. Jared and Andrea in the Sales dept. saw to it that we had a new machine at our home in one week, and it went together perfectly. Absolutely superb customer service to recover from an initial show-stopper. Cudos to them, and to Nordic Track for giving them the authority to move quickly. I can't say enough good things about these two. I hope they represent your entire corporate culture. So far, so good. My wife and I have been on the machine daily since Dec. 10, total 1 to 2 hours per day for the both of us. We're brisk walkers, not runners, so we haven't really 'tested' the machine yet, but it is quiet and feels very robust. We like the simplicity of the displays, and the mostly "one-touch" controls. But in our little "den" room, it's like living with the Starship Enterprise! (I guess that's part of the robustness.)
When we were researching which treadmill to get, we noticed that belt-centering issues were mentioned in some reviews of this product. We found the belt on-center when we got the machine, and after supposing it was a bit tight from the factory, talked to your tech support folks about loosening it to avoid excess fatigue on the motor, which they recommended and which we did. The process was simple, and the belt is still reliably on-center.

Overall this is a great treadmill. I am used to the treadmills at the gym, so I really miss the built in fans! I love that I can listen to my music through the speakers. I don't know if something is wrong with mine, but the heart rate monitor is useless. It goes from 80 to 170 to 60 to whatever with no rhyme or reason, so either it's not working correctly or I need to see a cardiologist! :)

Okay, but not spectacular
I have had this treadmill for about 4 months. It is holding up quite nicely and seems durable. However, for the price, there are a lot of things left to be desired.
1. Cannot enter your own weight, so the calorie count is completely useless and a waste of space
2. Very poor audio connection and output. My ipod does a better job
3. Given the large size of the console, a fan could have easily been included and would be more useful than the crappy speakers in the console
4. Heart rate sensor is horribly inaccurate. There is no way my pulse is 52 after running for 15 minutes
5. The "space saving" design is a joke. It folds up vertically into a big, awkward mess that just takes up more space and requires 2 people to move it.
Overall, this is a durable machine, but is pretty basic and unhelpful for the price tag. I wish I had spent my money on something with more, quality features.

Love my treadmill - Better than the YMCA
I have used treadmills at the YMCA and wanted one at home that would compare. This is far better. The deck has a bit more give so it is easier on the joints. I love all the features and the display is great. You can vary it to show whatever combination of info you would like to see. The bar grip heart monitor is also very nice. It is VERY heavy though so you cannot move it around easily. Getting it from the garage where the driver left it to the basement was quite a chore. Thank goodness we have a walkout or I am not sure how we would have gotten it inside.

I've had this treadmill for less than 24 hours so I'm going to give my initial review and perhaps down the road I can amend it for what will hopefully continue to be a positive experience. First of all, I did my research. There is NO treadmill on the market for THIS price with THESE FEATURES. I then conferred with a close friend who is a personal trainer and a fitness model and she told me that Nordic Tracks are good machines. Although my two calls to customer service inquiring about the A2550 were less than stellar (both times the guys I spoke with seemed less than enthusiastic to have to answer my questions), I decided to go ahead with my purchase anyway. (Seems like less than average customer service is the norm these days. Hopefully those were isolated incidents with this company.)
I ordered my treadmill online on Wednesday 3/24 and it arrived the following Wednesday afternoon. I was skeptical about the freight company (have had bad luck in the past) but I must say that the company Nordic Track uses is exceptionally efficient and their tracking information is continuously updated so you know exactly where your order is on any given day. In fact, my order's expected arrival date wasn't until 4/1 so I actually received it 2 days early. My husband tipped the delivery guy and he helped bring it all the way into the house. I hired a certified professional assembler since Nordic Track doesn t offer assembly services in my area. The treadmill was up and ready to go in about one hour. I worked out on it last night and again this morning. AWESOME!
Now, for the best features:
This treadmill is sturdy and well-built. I live in a one-story house with tile flooring throughout so with the wheels attached to the front base of the treadmill, it's a bit easier to move from one room to the other when folded. Don't get me wrong: this thing is HEAVY. When it s unfolded and you re working out on it, you would have no idea it even had wheels! I actually like my Nordic Track more than the treadmills I v

Exactly What We Were Looking For!
Recently we purchased a NordicTrack treadmill, the A2550 Pro, with iFit capability, an mpeg player input jack, and comfort shocks. We are extremely satisfied with this product! It is not only very stable, with a platform that supports our daughter's running workouts as well as our variable speed and incline walks, but most importantly, it is QUIET enough to allow us to do these things in the family room without disturbing other family activities. Exactly what we were looking for!
This is my second piece of NordicTrack equipment, and I continue to value your company's attention to good design.

The Perfect Marriage of Cost and Performance
I am 81 years old and purchased this treadmill because my first treadmill was damaged by a water spill. I had the previous treadmill for 10 years. I was looking for a good replacement and found it in this particular model which I thought married cost and performance. In the months that I have owned the treadmill it has performed completely to my expectations. I find it a very safe machine with a good comfortable track and I particularly like the wide handle grips with the pulse information. The LED displays are very readable and easy to see. I have tried the sound system and have used it occasionally. Above all, I appreciate the solid feel and the secure feeling i get during jogging. It is a solid performer.I am very concerned about safetly and feel that this treadmill fills the bill.

Exceeds all My Expectations
My wife loves it because it is much quieter than the previous treadmill and my home offcie/gym is directly above the kitchen. It is so quite I can talk on the phone while walking at 3.7 MPH at a 4.5 % incline. Love the fact that you can hit a number and it starts at that speed. Also like the fact that I can hit stop and it remembers the time used and when restarted, remembers the time, calories burned etc. The instructions do not talk about this feather and it does not have the obvious Pause Button-however this is a Pause Function. It has many screens you can select with one having all of the information-which is the one I use.
It meets my expectations and in fact exceeds them. I particularly like the ease of adjusting speed and incline. It has a wide long belt that allows me to do some additional stretch band exercises while I walk.
I use the treadmill 7 days a week for 35 minutes each day. It follows a 1/2 hour routine on my weight machine. At 67 years old I feel great and am stronger than I was at 47! In fact one of my routines is chin-ups. One one day in a three day cycle I do 3 sets of 10 chin-ups.
When I am out of town and go to the gym (it is addictive!) it is fun to watch the young folks say quietly; "Look at that old man do those chin-ups!"
